Nu
de Fred Aufray
Présentation de l'éditeur
Fred Aufray earned his living as a glamorous fashion
photographer in Paris, Milan and London. But for over
seven years, the Frenchman dreamed of taking pictures
of ordinary women in the same luxurious style as fashion
nudes. So he began shooting Parisian women of all
kinds married, single, pregnant... The result, Nu,
is startling because of Aufray's whisper-soft technique,
because of the way he brings out poignant beauty that
is lost in everyday goings-on, and because, most of
all, he encouraged his models to create their own
poses. This romantic portraiture enterprise represents
French sensuality at its most beguiling.
Fred Aufray
fängt ihre Weiblichkeit diskret in ungewöhnlichen
und doch lebensnahen Gesten, Posen und Körperdetails
ein. Extrem verführerisch, unglaublich sinnlich
- eben französisch!

Naked
de Lidia Carbonelle
Book Description
The human physique has always been a central theme of
the fine arts. Every body possesses its own singular
beauty, and a photographer must recognize this unique
style in order to express it. The simple bending of
a knee or the tilt of a chin brings out new forms and
character traits. Arising from the interaction between
artful technique as well as a trusting relationship
between photographer and model are veritable masterpieces
of nude photography. Top contemporary photographers
from Europe and America present their excellent art:
from elegant to boldly erotic to provocative.

Eros
de Linda Ferrer, Jane Lahr
Book Description
A joyful, uninhibited and tasteful celebration of
heterosexual love and the human body, this portfolio
weds photographs by Helmut Newton, Edward Weston,
Annie Leibovitz, Imogen Cunningham, Manuel Alvaro
Bravo, Robert Mapplethorpe, Greg Gorman, Brassai,
Man Ray and others to erotic prose and poetry selections.
Earthy snippets from Henry Miller, Sallie Tisdale,
D.H. Lawrence, Erica Jong, Frank Harris and Jeanette
Winterson tie sexual delight to love, spiritual rapture,
curiosity and exploration of self and other. Walt
Whitman's incantatory lyric "This is the female
form" seems perfectly juxtaposed with Barbara
Brodnick's buxom Nude 1.
Although
the pictures have a certain sameness, there are dozens
of strong, complex compositions in a variety of settings,
and the poetry selections, ranging from Robert Graves
and Muriel Rukeyser to Ezra Pound's translation of
an ancient Egyptian ode, are marvelous. Lahr coedited
Love: A Celebration in Art and Literature; Ferrer
is a freelance picture editor. BOMC selection.
